Answers to faqs:
- Q: What types of projects can ClearVue-360 help me with?
A: ClearVue-360 was designed as a general-purpose tool and can be used on a wide variety of business projects.
-
Q: Do I have to be a project management expert to use ClearVue-360?
A: Quite the opposite, ClearVue-360 was designed for the new (accidental) project manager. Although many experienced project managers are also using it for small to medium complexity projects.
-
Q: Many of the CV-360 templates look similar to ones I've already created in Word – why should I use CV-360 instead of what I already have?
A: The value of CV-360 is not necessarily in the templates themselves (especially if you already have them created), but rather in the integration of the templates with each other and with the reporting function. The problem that we wanted to solve with CV-360 is related to the headache of maintaining templates (if you change one, you should also change all related ones) and of pulling information out of them in an easy manner for planning and reporting purposes.
-
Q: If I already have MS Project, do I have to get rid of it to use ClearvUe-360?
A: Not at all. MS
Project is primarily a scheduling tool and in
that capacity it is actually much more powerful than the scheduling tool included in CV-360. Many PM's are using CV-360 along side MS Project to handle the things that MS Project doesn't, such as: Business Case, Project Priorities, Requirements, Action Items, Issues, Risks, Decisions, Meeting Minutes, Lessons Learned, Changes, etc.. In addition, ClearVue-360 is compatible with MS Project (see below).
-
Q: Does CV-360 integrate with MS Project?
A: Yes, schedules
(Gantt charts) created in ClearVue-360 can
be exported in XML format, which is compatible
with MS Project, as well as, many other scheduling tools that have adopted the XML format.
-
Q: I'm new to project management and don't really know where to start. Will ClearVue-360 still help me?
A: ClearVue-360 has a built-in Workflow that will guide you through the project management process from start to finish.
-
Q: Is ClearVue compatitble with other software applications or is it proprietary?
A: ClearVue-360 can export data in formats compatible with MS Project, Word, Excel, and PDF.
-
Q: How many people can use the same ClearVue license?
A: Each license is for a single user.
-
Q: Can I run ClearVue-360 on Windows Vista?
A: Yes, you should
install it using Vista's "Program Comaptibility
Wizard" by selecting Control Panel =>
Programs = > Programs and Features = > Use an older program with this version of Windows, locate the CV-360 installable and follow the instructions.
-
Q: I
don't need all of the ClearVue templates. Can I just use the ones that are applicable to my project?
A: Yes, you can
customize the ClearVue workflow to only include
the templates that you use most
frequently. To do this, go to Templates -
Customize Template Workflow and then select the
templates that you want to include.
Note: you can still access the other templates if you like without modifying your customized workflow by jumping directly to them via the Templates menu.
